The lady Tigers gained ODI status on 24th November 2011 when they defeated the USA in a World Cup qualifier. Two days later they played their first official match, against Ireland, where they continued their winning streak, victors by 92 runs.
Bangladesh have good form in T20 cricket. In 2014 they made their first World Cup appearance, In 2018 and 2019, they were champions of the ICC Women's World Twenty20 Qualifier. Also in 2018 they won the Women`s Asia Cup, the only team aside from India to do so.
