Along with Australia, the first team to compete on the international stage when the two teams met for the first women`s Test match in Brisbane, December 1934.
It was England great, Rachael Heyhoe Flint, who was at the coalface for the very first ODI World Cup, with England hosting the event for the first time. The England captain was also the first to hold the Cup aloft.
England played in the very first women's T20I match, against New Zealand at Hove in 2004. Since that time they have been at the forefront of the game, with powerful and canny batsmen, nagging medium pace bowlers and an excellent fielding outfit.
This team has featured in every World Cup and were champions at the inaugural tournament in 2009.
